I provided feedback throughout this paper, as I do on all essays, because students in AP Literature can and are expected to rewrite a certain percentage of their essays.
1. This is encouraging because I use phrases like, good, now...to show the student that their ideas are excellent and how to further those or make them more effective.
2. I base my comments on issues I know this writer struggles with. This student will take the AP exam, so in I specialize her feedback to things that she can do to help her score on the AP exam.
3. Continuous progress is monitored in terms of the AP College Board 9 Point Rubric, but modified as needed for each student to work on specific things that will help them.
4. My feedback focuses on furthering the analysis of her claims, which is the focus of AP standards.
